Homecoming Tailgate November 3rd!

We will be having a Homecoming Tailgate November 3rd from 9-11am at the green space in front of our chapter room! All alumni, family, and friends are welcome!

Initiation

We initiated our 68 new members on October 11th! Many of the legacies came out to surprise their family members. Celebration was held afterwards where the bigs and littles exchanged their paddles and anchors.

Swaps on Swaps on Swaps

 The new members have had so many swaps its been almost impossible to keep up with them all! Here's some pictures from a rave swap, country club swap, flannel and bonfire swap, and throwdown for your hometown.

Big/Little Reveal!

We had Big/Little Reveal last Thursday! The bigs left their littles presents secretly all week long, leading up to the big reveal Thursday night! Such an exciting week in DG.

Camellia Super Bingo

Last week was National Assisted Living Week, so we visited Camellia Place on Friday for Super Bingo! Camellia is a retirement and assisted living community here in Auburn that we visit as part of the Golden Anchor Program.

Because this week was Super Bingo instead of regular Bingo, the prizes the residents won after getting a bingo were fancier than normal (Auburn t-shirts, Mary Kay products, flowers, etc.) We helped by calling out numbers and helping some of the residents play.

Every time we go it is a really rewarding experience and the people there are so sweet, and oftentimes very funny.

Paint Swap

The New Members had their paint swap tonight with Sigma Chi! With so much paint on them, the girls are almost unrecognizable. I think its safe to say some of them are going to be picking paint out of their hair for days.

Frog Legs

 We had a sisterhood event today at Frog Legs. Frog Legs is an indoor facility with a couple of big inflatables such as moon bounces, an obstacle course, and a long slide. Everyone had a good time bouncing around with all of our DG sisters.

Revenge of the Nerds

The new members had their first swap tonight with ATO!

Sailor Sister Tie Dye!!

We had our last sailor sister event on Wednesday.

IMPACT Sailor Sister Event

This week, girls were paired up with their sailor sister, and then each individual pair picked an IMPACT event to go to that worked with both of their schedules. IMPACT is an organization on Auburn's campus that allows students to get involved in volunteer and community service opportunities. Some of the popular volunteer locations are the Lee County Humane Society, Joyland Daycare, the Boys and Girls Club, and several retirement communities around Auburn.

The girls were able to get to know a potential big while helping out our community.

Redneck Wedding Social

The church bells were ringing last night. We had our first social of the year, themed Redneck Wedding. Everyone got all dolled up for their big day.

Chewacla Sailor Sister Event

We had our first Sailor Sister event this morning at Chewacla State Park. Hiking, swimming, food, and hanging out with sisters, what could be better?

Dinner at Phi Delta Theta

We had a great time eating a home cooked meal and hanging out at our first non-alcoholic social of the year. The cooks at Phi Delta Theta made dinner for us. We're not really sure what the ice cream/chocolate/whipped cream dessert thing was, but it was delicious for sure.

Chapter Retreat

On Sunday, we went to Chewacla State Park for our chapter retreat. We rented out the pavilion to hang out and each lunch, and a lot of girls went down to the waterfall to swim and hike.

Spring Formal

 

Last night we had our Spring Formal at the Rivermill Events Center in Columbus, GA. Spring formal is our semi-formal, so all the girls wear short dresses. Everyone had a great time getting all dolled up and dancing the night away.

AU Big Event

We had several groups go out this morning and participate in the Big Event. DG's love Doing Good!

This past Wednesday, we initiated our fifteen new members. At Celebration afterwards, the bigs and littles swapped their anchors and paddles.
